The Summit Centre represents one of the most significant community projects in Hampton’s history. A modern, multi-purpose facility designed to support recreation, wellness and be a gathering place for residents of all ages. As a growing community with a deep commitment to active living, Hampton knew this space would become a cornerstone for local programs, sports & events.
When the J.T. Clark Family Foundation brought forward the idea of a Seat Matching Challenge, it immediately stood out as a transformative opportunity for Hampton’s community. The Foundation’s forward-thinking approach and generous commitment to match dollar for dollar on every $500 seat sponsorship, up to $268,500, created a powerful moment for Hampton. It wasn’t just a fundraising tool; it was a chance to double the community’s impact, energize residents and unite the town behind a shared goal.
From the moment the campaign launched on May 1st, 2025, the response was overwhelming. Residents, families, businesses, and community groups embraced the challenge, sponsoring seats in celebration of loved ones, community groups, and friends. The Foundation’s match inspired a sense of urgency and excitement. People didn’t just want to give; they wanted to be part of something bigger. It wasn’t long before momentum grew, and our community showed exactly what Hampton is capable of when we come together.
Thanks to this collective effort, we reached our goal 17 days ahead of the July 31st campaign deadline.
When the Summit Centre opened its doors, the pride in Hampton’s community was evident. Donors searched out their personalized nameplates, pointing them out to family and friends, and celebrating the fact that their contribution had made a lasting impact. It wasn’t just a donation – it was a legacy. And it wouldn’t have been possible without the generosity and leadership of the J.T. Clark Family Foundation.
On the day of the Grand Opening, Hampton was grateful to have Cynthia Clark and her father, John, attend and celebrate alongside residents. Their role in the fundraising campaign went far beyond financial support – they inspired Hamptonians to come together, show their pride, and be part of something truly meaningful.
The success of the Seat Matching Challenge is a testament to what we can achieve when vision and community come together. With the leadership of the J.T. Clark Family Foundation and the overwhelming support of residents, the Summit Centre has become more than a facility – it has become a symbol of Hampton’s unity, generosity and shared pride. Together we’ve built something that will serve our community for generations.
